The re-admittance process is dependent upon the length of time you have been away from Northland College. Clearance is required from the Registrar’s Office, the Student Financial Services Office, and Student Services for all returning students. If you are returning after time off for academic suspension, you must petition the Academic Standings Committee regardless of the length of time you have been away.

Returning within 2 Years

If you leave Northland, you are allowed to return to Northland under your original catalog provided you return within four semesters or two years.

For this policy, “semesters” are defined as the 15-week time frame associated with fall or winter semesters at Northland College, and spring term or summer term are not counted.

If you are returning within a two-year period you must contact the Registrar’s Office for re-admittance.

Returning after 2 Years

If you are gone for more than four semesters you must reenter Northland under the catalog in place at the time of reentry.

For this policy, “semesters” are defined as the 15-week time frame associated with fall or winter semesters at Northland College, and spring term or summer term are not counted.

If you are returning after a two-year period must contact the Admissions Office for re-admittance.

Please note: Students who left Northland after the winter semester of the 2010-11 academic year and who subsequently return to Northland will not be allowed to reenter Northland under any catalog prior to fall of 2009, regardless of the timeline under which the student returns.
