Environmental educators will work with the day camp director to implement effective and interactive environmental education programs for youth at our facility. Hunt Hill anticipates hiring up to five environmental educators for the summer of 2019. Environmental educators can expect a fun and diverse work atmosphere that also provides invaluable job experience in the field of environmental education.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fun and hands-on environmental education programs, particularly for youth ages five to twelve years old in Hunt Hill’s Youth Day Camp program.
  • Supervise youth campers during Hunt Hill activities and ensure their safety.
  • Serve as a cooperating camp staff team member to help fill in, as needed, with various operations throughout the camp.

Qualifications

  • Possess a strong interest in nature, the outdoors, and working with youth.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and trustworthy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work long, flexible hours when needed, including weekends and evenings.
  • Experience teaching or working with youth.
  • Possess American Red Cross lifeguard certification, or be willing to become certified (training is provided).
