Responsible for the health and safety of campers and staff; respond to emergency situations and must determine when to seek more advanced medical care. Takes care of all illnesses and injuries to campers and staff when necessary from the guidance of a licensed medical professional. Maintains all health forms, treatment records, incident reports and other health information of all campers and staff daily. Manage the health center operations and distributes all medication.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Must be certified in at least one of the following:
    • A physician licensed in Wisconsin.
    • A registered nurse licensed in Wisconsin.
    • A physician assistant licensed in Wisconsin.
    • A practical nurse licensed in Wisconsin.
    • A national athletic trainers association certified trainer.
    • An emergency medical technician or a paramedic.
    • A person currently certified as completing the American Red Cross: Emergency Medical Response
    • A person currently certified as completing the American Red Cross: Responding to Emergencies.
    • A person currently certified as completing the American Red Cross: Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course in conjunction with a department approved CPR course.
    • A person currently certified as completing the Wilderness Medical Associates: Wilderness First Responder Course.
    • A person currently certified as completing the American Safety & Health Institute: Advanced First Aid in conjunction with a department approved CPR course
    • A person currently certified as completing the Boy Scouts of America: Wilderness First Aid and Doctrine Guidelines in conjunction with a department approved CPR course.
    • A person currently certified as completing the Wilderness Medical Associates: Wilderness First Aid Course.
    • A person currently certified as completing the NOLS Wilderness Medical Institute: Wilderness First Aid Course with CPR component.
    • A person currently certified as completing the NOLS Wilderness Medical Institute: Wilderness Advanced First Aid.
    • A person currently certified as completing the SOLO: Wilderness First Responder Course.
  • Current Adult, Child and Infant CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Must have understanding of medication and have good organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work with the camp schedule providing health supervision during all camp sessions.
  • Have a genuine liking, interest and experience with working with children.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently as well as on a team and handle several projects at the same time.
  • Must be available on occasional weekends for camper supervision, camp rentals and other camp related activities.
  • Archery Instructor preferred.
  • Lifeguard preferred.
