The City of Ashland Parks and Recreation Department offers gymnastics classes to children ages two – eighteen. The gymnastics program is held at the Bretting Community Center which has a full size gymnastics gym. The gymnastics program is both a recreational and competitive program that uses USAG guidelines.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Interested persons must have knowledge and understanding of the sport of gymnastics (pom, cheerleading, or dance is also desirable as some skills training can be obtained on the job). Interested persons must know proper teaching techniques of skills and progression of skills. Knowledge of the gymnastics equipment is important. Responsibilities include assisting the gymnastics coordinator and other coaches to teach, create and implement lesson plans to all levels in the gymnastics program, supervise a class of gymnasts and keep order with the class/gum. First Aid/CPR/AED Certification is plus.
