The goal of the Land Records Department is to create and compile land records (information with a geographical component) and to make this data accessible to land professionals and the public. Bayfield County Land Records Department, located in Washburn, WI,  has a few different functions: students interested in Land Survey, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Land Sales, Interactive Online Mapping, and/or Property Description are welcome to apply. The student intern would have a broad range of experiences in the Land related field of study. In addition, the work available can be tailored to fulfill the GIS internship requirement. Students will experience the latest technology in this field, and we will try to tailor the project to the student’s strengths and interests.

This position can be accomplished remotely (from Northland College or a home computer) or at their office in Washburn

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Interest in geography
  • Basic understanding of GIS
  • Pass a background check
  • Transportation to Washburn, unless if you are working remotely
