The National Park Service Great Lakes Inventory and Monitoring Network is providing volunteer opportunities to assist with data management and data quality control.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Volunteers will assisting with cross-checking for errors in natural resources data that has been collected by National Park Service scientists.

Volunteers will learn the importance of good data management procedures and how data is collected, processed, and certified prior to analysis and publication or release to the public. These are data management practices that all natural resource professionals should fully understand and embrace. The opportunity will put the individual in touch with science professionals and will add a valuable experience to their resume.

How to Apply

Send a letter of interest and a resume to Suzanne Sanders, ecologist with the National Park Service. Once materials have been reviewed, the volunteer will be contacted regarding filling out the National Park Service Volunteer Agreement, the Dept. of Interior Non-Disclosure Agreement, and scheduling.
