If you want to work in the office of the future, create original prose, truly make a difference and love animals, this may be the internship for you.
At Bedtime4Dogs, we love animals (you may have guessed), believe in holistic nutrition and sustainable living. In 2009, we adopted a rescue dog. She was mostly calm until bedtime when she became, well, all puppy. Thinking our household may never sleep again, we needed to find a way to get her to sleep (without chemicals) and our first product was born. Bedtime Bones is an organic, chamomile bedtime treat for dogs. Since then we have expanded our lines and helped more dogs and their humans get to sleep at night.
We don’t use any unnatural fillers, or wheat, soy or corn. Our packaging is made from recycled paper with no glue or staples so it can be recycled anywhere. And yes, the company we uses makes our paper packaging with wind power.
In your position you would demonstrate your creative writing skills from the comfort of your own workspace (Yes, this is a virtual office.) For 9-12 hours a week or the equivalent over a semester (i.e. the time committed for a 3 credit course) you would create blog content, bedtime stories, press releases, newsletters and social media content. We are based in Minneapolis but 100% of your internship can be completed from your home or school computer.
Candidates ideally will write well. Self-directed, creative types with great attitudes need to apply.
Students will be provided a calendar of content assignments to execute. They will learn to use content posting tools that are commonly used today.
Writers will be appreciated for the impact they make (get used to hearing “thank you”). Successful interns can expect a LinkedIn endorsement, reference and networking introductions.
You will learn directly from the owner, who has more years of experience in marketing and new product development than she will admit. She was even a journalism undergraduate and has been published on multiple occasions.
