This position has a teaching load of seven courses per year and will contribute to the development of a recently redesigned psychology program at the college. We are interested in candidates from all areas of cognition, neuroscience, or social psychology. Of special importance is the fit between the candidates teaching and scholarly interests and Northland’s emphases on issues of sustainability, the environment, and social justice. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) teach courses in content areas from a few sub-disciplines in psychology including General Psychology, Cognition, Consciousness, Social, Abnormal, or Neuropsychology; and advanced topics in the candidate’s area of interest; (2) develop a program of scholarly work that engages undergraduates; (3) provide service to the college through committee work and student advising. Preference will be given to applicants who place a high value on a liberal arts education and whose teaching and scholarly interests fit well with the mission of the college.
