The mission of Northland College’s Office of Alumni Relations and the Northland College Alumni Association is to create a lifelong and worldwide community of alumni through increased opportunities for meaningful engagement in order to promote awareness, pride, participation, volunteer involvement, and philanthropic commitment to Northland College.

The alumni relations intern will learn to create and strengthen communications initiatives for various alumni groups and the alumni body as a whole by using a variety of means including the official Northland College website, social media sites, the Alumni Board portal, and email campaigns. This position will learn the basics of communication for the purpose of increasing alumni engagement.

Opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Learning the basics of web content writing/updating
  • Developing plans for engaging with alumni via Facebook and other online media
  • Carrying out communication plans to alumni groups for event promotion
  • Learning and implementing a system to track alumni participation for events
