At Northland, the Advancement Office is responsible for raising funds for student scholarships, special projects, and daily operations. It is also home to the Office of Alumni Relations. The Advancement Office is housed in Brownell Hall and staffed by five full-time and three part-time Northland College staff members.

The advancement services team was developed to meet the multiple needs of the office and provide tailored opportunities for students interested in getting hands-on skills in non-profit fundraising and management.

If you love Northland and want a future working with non-profits or NGOs, the advancement services team may be a good fit for you! This position will provide broad experiences related to operation of a professional office environment as well as event management and constituency engagement.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Advancement services team members will represent the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office to the student body and campus community. Qualified applicants will readily manage a student fundraising initiative, assist in coordinating and executing various events, including Fall Festival, and will provide assistance working with the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Additional duties include: Creating partnerships across campus to enhance programs and educate the campus community about the work done in Advancement and the Alumni Offices, and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicants will have both written and oral communication skills, a can-do, creative attitude, be timely and have time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a team.
