  • Jan 11: Pre-Registration Writing Assessment in preparation for class registration is available
  • Feb 1: Compete the Media Release to grant or decline Northland media and photo permission
  • Mar 1: Required Health Questionnaire and Physician Examination Form are available
  • Mar 4: Search course listing available in preparation for class registration
  • Apr 2: Sign up for a class registration appointment
  • Apr 2: Complete the FERPA Acknowledgement
  • Apr 2: Complete the Registration Disclosure Agreement
  • May 1: Housing Survey & Housing and Meal Plan Agreement available (housing & meal plan options)
  • Mar 25: Orientation registration begins
  • Jul 15: Fall tuition bills mailed (manage and accept aid and pay your bill)
  • Aug 14: Outdoor Orientation Group 1 arrival day
  • Aug 15: Tuition payment due for fall semester
  • Aug 24: Outdoor Orientation Group 2 arrival day
  • Aug 31: Outdoor Orientation Group 3 arrival day
  • Aug 31: Welcome Week begins for ALL new students

You will be assigned an academic advisor based on your major interest(s). You’ll be notified of who your advisor is and have an opportunity to meet with them during orientation.  You can change advisors at any time during your time at Northland.

    1. Complete the preregistration writing assessment. This assessment is a requirement of the liberal education program. It provides an accurate assessment of your current writing abilities and helps identify ways that Northland can support you in further developing your writing skills.
    2. Know your degree requirements.
    3. Review the general education program.
    4. Search for classes so you can be ready when meeting with your advisor.
    5. Complete the registration appointment form. This needs to be completed even if you are registering on Scholarship Day.
    6. Know how to buy books through our online bookstore.
    7. If you need academic accommodations, start the process.

Orientation

The first few days can prove to be some of the most important of your college experience so we try to make these as exciting, informative, and unique as possible. Call 715-682-1269 or email SOEI Outdoor Pursuits Evan Coulson with any questions.

  1. Register for Orientation
    Winter 2021 Outdoor Orientation is a student-led, multi-day,  off-campus outing.  Meals are provided by Chartwells and you’ll return to campus each evening. This experience is available to all incoming new students but only required for all first-year students and for transfer students with fewer than 24 credits. Commuters are not exempt unless your are entering with more than 24 credits. Cost: $300. Registration opening soon.
  2. Advisor Meeting
    Schedule a meeting with your assigned advisor for a time during the first week of classes.
  3. First Year Experience (FYE)
    Making a smooth transition into college is an important step in achieving success. The First Year Experience course is scheduled for the fall semester only and you will be automatically registered for it next fall.
