College is an important investment, and life can be unpredictable. That’s why Northland College has partnered with GradGuard to offer tuition insurance. With tuition insurance, you may be eligible for a reimbursement of expenses above and beyond Northland’s refund policy if you need to withdraw for a covered reason.

Purchase Deadline
Students seeking tuition insurance must purchase a plan prior to the start of the term. Tuition insurance is completely optional.

What’s Covered

Covered withdrawals can take place any time during the covered term. To qualify for reimbursement, a student must withdraw for a covered reason as advised by a licensed medical professional.

Covered Reasons

  • Covered serious injury or illness
  • Chronic illness
  • Mental health conditions, such as stress, depression, severe anxiety, or suicide/attempted suicide

  • Tuition
  • Room and board
  • Other fees

GradGuard also offers members special access to an Assistance Hotline to help students and their families take care of emergencies and unexpected issues.

How do I purchase tuition insurance?

Students and families can go to gradguard.com/tuition/northland to get a quote and purchase coverage.

Am I required to purchase tuition insurance?

No, you are not—this is a completely optional benefit to our families and students.

How do I file a claim?

Because Northland does not directly provide tuition insurance, you must contact GradGuard.

Does Northland earn a commission?

Northland College does not earn a commission, and 100 percent of premiums go toward protecting your tuition investment.
