Join SOEI Outdoor Pursuits for one of our newest campus traditions! Come explore our recently-developed campus Nordic Ski trail system by candlelight and then enjoy treats and hot drinks by a warming fire. Use your own equipment or head down to Outdoor Pursuits’ Nordic Ski Center (found in the LumberJack Lounge on the lower level of the Ponzio Campus Center) to rent boots and skis.
This event is open to current Northland College students, faculty, and staff.

Vertical Endeavors Climbing Trip
Vertical Endeavors Duluth, 329 South Lake Avenue, Duluth, Minnesota, 55802

Join Outdoor Pursuits for a day trip to Vertical Endeavors – Duluth, an indoor climbing gym! Whether you’re there for the physical challenge, the social aspect, or just to have fun in a new environment, this will be a great way to get off campus and try something new! No experience necessary. Transportation, refreshments, day passes, and all equipment are provided.
This event is open to current Northland College students, faculty, and staff.
This outing will depart from the SOEI on Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m. and return at 5 p.m.

Join Outdoor Pursuits for an afternoon of relaxation, restoration, and renewal! Recharge, reset, and renew your body and mind at our Sauna and Dip event at Maslowski Beach. This experience combines the healing power of heat therapy with the refreshing shock of cold immersion for a full-body reset that promotes circulation, reduces muscle tension, and enhances mental clarity. Transportation, refreshments, and all equipment are provided.

Wilderness Medical Associates—Wilderness First Responder Course
169 Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment, 1411 Ellis Avenue, Ashland, WI

SOEI Outdoor Pursuits is partnering with Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA) to host an eight-day Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course, the definitive wilderness course in medical training, leadership, and critical thinking for outdoor, low-resource, and remote professionals and leaders. The course is taught by professional instructors with significant patient care and backcountry experience.
The Wilderness First Responder program is the ideal medical training for leaders in remote areas, including outdoor educators, guides, military, professional search and rescue teams, researchers, and those involved in disaster relief. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical. It includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary.
This course is open to anyone age sixteen or older—including Northland College students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public. Your course fee covers all instruction and course materials.
This course will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in 169 Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment on the Northland College campus in Ashland, Wisconsin. Lunch is not included.
Housing Options
Optional accommodations will be available on site for an additional fee. Accommodations include options for a single room or a double room in one of our residence halls. For the duration of this course, pricing is set at $150.00 for a double room and $175.00 for a single room. Bathroom and kitchen access are included.

Refund Policy(Required)Cancellations made prior to seven (7) days before the event will result in a full refund.
Cancellations after seven (7) days receive no refund. However, at the discretion of the program director, a refund may be offered in the following circumstance: Short-term Illness or Injury:
If a short-term illness or injury prevents the participant from attending the scheduled session, the participant may reschedule to another session of equal or lesser value, during the same year only, provided space is available. If the new session has a higher value than the original session, the participant must pay the difference in tuition. Refunds will not be provided for transferring into a session of lesser value.
Cancellation by Northland College:
