Honors Day is a long-standing tradition at Northland, held each year in April.
The purpose of this event is to recognize the achievements of our exceptional students, which we do through an array of campus-wide celebrations on this special day.
Students who work for the Indigenous Cultures Center (ICC) will be present to guide tours of the museum and answer questions regarding the artifacts and art.
The student choir (directed by Christine Hulmer) will sing three or four songs to celebrate the campus-wide events, ending with the Northland College Hymn. Immediately afterwards, student research presenters should report to their event locations.
A photographer will be set-up to take free professional photos of students, faculty, and staff.
All student researchers will be by their poster displays for the entirety of this event. They will be available to present to visitors who stop by, answer their questions, and discuss their research findings.
2D and 3D artwork created by current students will be on display, and visitors are encouraged to walk around and view at their pleasure. Some items may be for sale.
Outdoor Pursuits students will be harnessed up and scaling a cottonwood tree next to Wheeler Hall to show industry-relevant skills they’ve learned.
Stop by to sip on student-brewed kombucha, participate in a flavor-your-own kombucha workshop, enjoy grab-and-go sweet treats, and get a tour of the campus gardens’ seedling nursery and high tunnel greenhouse.
Snack on s’mores made with homemade marshmallows by the Hulings Rice Food Center. Raffle prizes will be drawn.
Enjoy a concert featuring Northland College students and community members. This performance will be directed by Christine Hulmer.
