Native American Museum Tours

12:00–12:55 p.m. • Indigenous Cultures Center (First Floor, Mead Hall)

Students who work for the Indigenous Cultures Center (ICC) will be present to guide tours of the museum and answer questions regarding the artifacts and art.

Northland College Choir Concert

1:25–2:00 p.m. • Alvord Theatre, Ponzio Campus Center

The student choir (directed by Christine Hulmer) will sing three or four songs to celebrate the campus-wide events, ending with the Northland College Hymn. Immediately afterwards, student research presenters should report to their event locations.

Drop-in Professional Headshots

2–3 p.m. • First Floor, Ponzio Campus Center

A photographer will be set-up to take free professional photos of students, faculty, and staff.

Research Showcase

2:00–3:30 p.m. • Dexter Library

All student researchers will be by their poster displays for the entirety of this event. They will be available to present to visitors who stop by, answer their questions, and discuss their research findings.

Art Exhibit

2:00–4:30 p.m. • Mary Van Evera Visual Art Center

2D and 3D artwork created by current students will be on display, and visitors are encouraged to walk around and view at their pleasure. Some items may be for sale.

Outdoor Pursuits Technical Tree Climbing Demonstration

3:00–4:30 p.m. • Campus Mall (Weather permitting)

Outdoor Pursuits students will be harnessed up and scaling a cottonwood tree next to Wheeler Hall to show industry-relevant skills they’ve learned.

Tours and Tastings

3:30–5:00 p.m. • Hulings Rice Food Center

The Hulings Rice Food Center is located right next to the Mary Van Evera Visual Arts Center.

Stop by to sip on student-brewed kombucha, participate in a flavor-your-own kombucha workshop, enjoy grab-and-go sweet treats, and get a tour of the campus gardens’ seedling nursery and high tunnel greenhouse.

Gathering for S’mores by the Fire Ring

4:15–5:00 p.m. • Wheeler Fire Ring (Weather permitting)

Snack on s’mores made with homemade marshmallows by the Hulings Rice Food Center. Raffle prizes will be drawn.

Jazz Concert

6–7 p.m. • Robert Rue Parsonage Amphitheatre or Alvord Theatre, Ponzio Campus Center (Weather dependent)

The Robert Rue Parsonage Amphitheatre is directly outside the Ponzio Campus Center on the side facing the parking lot.

Northland Jazz presents a composer’s spotlight concert! You will hear new pieces from Joel Glickman, which features Northland Alum Abigail Gentry as the tuba soloist. You will also hear a new piece from former Northland student Timothy Heil. Christine Hulmer has arranged a piece for the band which is a traditional Yiddish song and will feature Sheva Abeles Allison on vocals. We will also have some funk and swing for your listening pleasure, so please join us!
