Use this checklist to make sure you have everything complete and in order prior to graduation.

1. Fill out online Graduation Application the semester prior to planning to graduate
2. Complete the requirements of the general education curriculum from your catalog
3. Complete First Year Experience
4. Earn at least 124 semester credits
5. Complete at least 30 credits at Northland
6. Complete 20 of the final 30 credits at Northland
7. Obtain 2.0 GPA in major/minor/overall (2.75 for students pursuing teacher licensure or a teacher certification minor)
8. Successfully complete all course requirements within declared major.
9. Complete program in required time (usually 10 semesters of attendance)
10. Confirm all outstanding debts with the College have been fulfilled

Students participating in Commencement will not receive a diploma at the ceremony, but will receive a diploma cover. Graduates must complete all course requirements and have their accounts paid in full in the Student Financial Services Office in order to receive their diploma.

Graduates who have completed all requirements by the end of May and have no balance due on their account will have their diplomas mailed to them in July. Please direct any questions about diplomas to registrar@northland.edu or by phone at 715-682-1227.

The Champagne Toast is hosted twice a year—once in December for our December graduates, and once as part of the Commencement weekend activities in May.
