Thank you for taking time to learn more about Northland College.
There are many decisions to make when selecting a college.  Big or small? Private or public?  Stay close to home or travel far away?  In sorting through those choices, I suggest you focus both on what’s important to you and what will best prepare you for today's rapidly changing world.
Northland College has a truly unique ability to address both those considerations.

Northland is a traditional liberal arts college but also adopted an environmental mission more than 35 years ago.   Our curriculum is distinctive.  Environmental knowledge and hands-on skill building are the foundation of every academic program - from traditional majors such as education and business to more environmentally oriented majors such as sustainable community development.  We take this innovative approach because it is important to both to our well-being and our planet's future .

Today many corporations, non-profit organizations and individuals are wrestling with how to incorporate greater environmental awareness into their everyday work, production and other activities.  As green and sustainability issues move more significantly to the forefront of our lives and work, Northland’s focus increasingly becomes the ideal preparation for your future.  That's true whether you wish to become a cutting-edge, sought-after, problem-solving career professional; a competitive, distinctive candidate for graduate school; or simply an individual more committed to and skilled in minimizing your and your family's impact on the environment.
With our low 13:1 student to faculty ratio, you’ll get the personal attention you need to chart your own path to success.  Our location in Ashland, Wisconsin, along the heart of Lake Superior's south shore is also adjacent to both the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and the more than 1 million acre Chequamegon National Forest.  As such, the area provides the perfect natural setting for learning and skill building both inside and outside the classroom as well as great year around recreational opportunities.
In addition, Northland's generous need and merit based financial aid options make a private college education more affordable than you might imagine.
So consider about what’s important to you and what will best prepare you for the future.  Then find out more about this unique environmental liberal arts college calling (800) 753-1840 or simply filling out the Request More Information form on this page.
I look forward to hearing from you and to welcoming you to Northland College.
